Email is a wonderful way for your child to communicate with me at any time of the day or week! If your child has a question or concern, an email can be sent to me anytime and I will get back to your child at my earliest convenience.  Here is a video to help students learn how to email their teacher(s) using Gmail.  In most people's lives, email plays an important part. Your child can begin to reap the benefits of email right now. Not only can your child communicate with his or her teacher, but your child can also communicate with other students in the class (2019). As your child's teacher, I can send out announcements to everyone in the class or provide feedback on an assignment that was turned in (2019). Another benefit of using email is that your child will be able to refer back to an email for help if it is needed later on; this is not the case if your child merely receives verbal help. Your child does not have to be in the classroom in order to receive the email, which pro...

Blogs 101

Blogs are a phenomenal way for your child to enhance their writing and technological skills! When your student is writing to a larger audience on the web, he or she will be more likely to be concerned with how their writing looks and sounds to the reader.  Here is a video that provides a quick overview of what blogging actually is.  The video below is what I will show my younger students before we begin blogging.  According to  ( Why Teachers And Students Should Blog: 18 Benefits of Educational Blogging , 2018), when  a student is able to blog, he or she is able to take ownership of their own content, develop new literacies, explore their creative side, boost confidence, make reflections, work on digital literacy and digital citizenship, have a voice, and make global connections. Introduction

Hello! My name is Stacy Martinez and I am your child's technology teacher! Here is a little bit of background information about me.  I graduated from Worland High School in 1996. After graduation, I attended the University of Wyoming. In 2000, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.  I moved to Kingman, Arizona for my first year of teaching in August of 2000. I taught a multi-age class, which consisted of kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students.   For my 2nd and 3rd year of teaching, I taught 1st grade in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Even though I taught in Thermopolis, I lived in Worland.   In 2003, I was hired to teach kindergarten in Worland. It was a rough year! Kindergarten is a very busy grade and I felt like it just was not for me. A position became available for 3rd grade and I jumped at the opportunity.  I taught 3rd grade for 10 years before taking on the position of Elementary Technologist, which is where I am today. My posi...
